PEG – Precision Perfected!
Valve seat grinding is precision work. Optimal maintenance and repair results require optimally performing machines.
Unlike other systems, PEG operates with a planetary motion. This technique truly perfects precision in valve seat grinding.
Due to two different rotational movements (planetary motion) of the grinding wheel and the grinding spindle, the stone does not rest evenly but only makes point contact with the valve seat.
This prevents the stone from tilting or clogging. The PEG feed device prevents pressure load on the grinding wheel. By gradually lowering the machine, the grinding wheel first removes the highest points of the valve seat material until a perfect valve seat is created.
The PEG grinding process guarantees flawless valve seats, concentric to the central axis of the valve guides, with an excellent surface finish. Ideal for hard valve seats!
After processing, regrinding is no longer necessary; in fact, it is counterproductive!
Characteristics of PEG Valve Seat Grinding Machines
Rotational Movement
The surface to be ground is polished with a grinding wheel rotating at high speed around its own axis.
Planetary Motion
The system performs an orbital movement simultaneously with the rotation, whereby the grinding wheel remains free-cutting at all times with constant point contact with the valve seat
Oscillating Movement
An angular difference of 30` is achieved through an oscillating movement during grinding. This results in an immediately tight valve seat with a clean surface finish.
PEG 8 and PEG 10 at a Glance
The PEG 8 and PEG 10 valve seat machines operate on the same principle and differ only in size, varying speeds, and different mounting threads for the grinding spindle. The machines are maintenance-free. However, the grinding machine, pilot guides, and stone holders should always be kept free of grinding dust and contamination.
