Our Flex-Hone® tools and industrial abrasive brushes are widely used for the manufacture, maintenance and repair of brass instruments. With its cylindrical shape and self-centering design, the Flex-Hone® is used for cleaning, finishing and polishing tubas, trumpets, trombones, flutes, French horns and other brass instruments with metal valves or slides. Our nylon abrasive brushes are perfect for cleaning and deburring threads.

Musical instruments made of soft brass have excellent acoustic properties, but are easily dented. To avoid embedding internal pipe debris that could prevent a valve or train from operating properly, musical instrument repair services use Flex-Hone® to first remove scale, limescale and corrosion. When honing, they use Flex-Hone® oil to treat brass surfaces. Finally, a brush with warm soapy water is used to remove the oil from the inside of the pipe.
