Deburring and Polishing

Our sPINner magnetic deburring and polishing machines are primarily designed for deburring and polishing larger quantities of small workpieces. The parts are placed into a container with water and a small amount of a vibratory finishing additive, along with the abrasive medium (stainless steel pins), and then placed onto the machine. A rotating magnetic field sets the steel pins into vigorous motion, resulting in gentle processing. After completion, the parts are separated from the medium using a magnet, a sieve, or the HD‑712 magnetic separator.

The machines are designed for series production. The operator only needs to handle loading and unloading; the work cycle itself runs fully automatically with the selected values for rotation speed and duration of clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. Depending on the machine, up to three runs can be set for one cycle. Only the smallest machine, the HD-716, has a single direction and speed of rotation. To avoid machine downtime, two containers are used, which are simply swapped for loading and unloading after the processing cycle is complete.

The process is suitable for virtually all metals as well as hard plastics. Due to its properties, it is also suitable for processing delicate parts, for example, in the watchmaking industry, or for processing gold, silver, and platinum in the jewelry industry.

Stainless steel pins are set into vigorous motion by a rotating magnetic field. This gently deburrs and polishes the parts, which are located in a container along with the pins in a liquid.
Due to their shape, the stainless steel pins penetrate into slots and bores, reaching areas that chips cannot access.
They remove burrs without altering the macro geometry of the parts. Therefore, the process is also applicable to precision parts. The typical processing time is only between 5 and 20 minutes.

Your Benefits

  • Especially suitable for irregularly shaped parts
  • Simultaneous deburring, polishing, and cleaning
  • Short processing times, simple and safe operation
  • Low costs – minimal consumables
  • No change in macro geometry
  • Also suitable for threads and precision parts.

The maximum load depends on the material, size, and shape of the workpieces to be processed. The optimal parameters for specific processing can be determined through trials.
