Planing

When facing, the surface of the engine block on which the cylinder head rests is milled flat. This machining process is crucial in order to create a perfect sealing surface and thus prevent leaks between the engine block and cylinder head. A flat engine block ensures the correct distribution of pressure within the engine and prevents power loss and possible engine damage.
